The Owatonna High School football team controlled the line of scrimmage on offense and defense in their season-opening 44-7 win over Rochester Century at OHS. The Huskies averaged about four-and-a-half yards per carry and held the Panthers to negative yards rushing through three quarters.

On Saturday's KRFO Coaches Show, coach Jeff Williams was pleased with the team's opening 13-play, 72-yard drive, "It was nice to go out there on the that opening drive and we ran our I(formation) stuff which allows us to get two hats on a lot of their down linemen and hopefully climb to line backers and our kids were very effective at doing that. We set a tone that we were going to win the line of scrimmage." The entire first drive was kept on the ground.

The Huskies gained a little over 200 yards rushing to go with about 280 through the air. Williams was pleased with both quarterbacks, "Brayden (Truelson) came out with laser-like precision, made some big plays down the field...We had a series cooked up for Sol (Havelka) give Sol the ability to go out there and showcase what he can do as well."

The Panthers were held to under 200 total yards. Williams said, "Our defense is very quick. Coach Achterkirch does a very good job of dialing up a number of pressures and blitzes, and did some things that confounded the Century offensive line. Ethan Rohman was coming scot free alot. Isaac Gefre was in the backfield a lot."
