The Wanamingo Jacks have punched their ticket to the Minnesota State Class C Amateur Baseball Tournament after advancing to the Region 5C Tournament title game.

The Jacks will play the Austin Greyhounds in Red Wing 8:00 p.m. Friday.  Both teams will advance to State as the #1 and #2 seeds from Region 5C.

Stewartville-Racine and Austin played a game Sunday night in Red Wing.  No scores were on the updated bracket from Region 5C.  I checked the Sharks and Greyhounds twitter feeds or facebook pages and nothing there.

Saturday rain pushed back their game and moved two contests to Red Wing.  The Jacks jumped on Dodge County 13-0 in seven innings to advance to today's semi-finals game against the Cannon Falls Bears.

The Bears got a masterful performance on the hill by Keith Meyers to defeat the Hastings Hawks 1-0 on Saturday.

Austin defeated Red Wing 6-5 and Stewartville-Racine knocked off defending 5C Champion Rochester 3-0 to advance to the other semi-finals game.

Brady Anfinson recorded the shutout win for Wanamingo in their runaway from Dodge County.

Alex Roosen threw a gem against Cannon Falls in a 2-1 win today and had the game winning two run home run over the scoreboard at John Burch Park in Cannon Falls.

He finished the game by striking out the side in the 9th inning.

The Bears outhit the Jacks but it's the runs that count.  Cannon Falls had 9 hits, Wanamingo 5 hits in the game.

Cannon Falls took an early 1-0 lead.

Eric Swiggum and Gavin Roosen gunned down two Bears at home keeping it close.

The #3 seed at state from Region 5C will come out of the Elimination Bracket.

In Region 6C the Waterville Indians got a walk-off single today by Nolan Grose scoring Josh Cook from third base after he started the bottom of the 9th inning with a double.  Faribault High School graduate Riley Schultz executed a sacrifice bunt to move Cook to third base.

Nolan Grose hit a 2-2 count single in the thrilling win 4-3 win over the Arlington A's.  The A's tied the game in the top of the 9th.

The Indians are in the semis of the winner's bracket against Eagle Lake in Waterville Monday, August 9, 2021 at 7:30 p.m.  The winner of that game punches their ticket to the State Amateur Baseball Tournament in Chaska, Waconia and Hamburg.

The winner will play Saturday, August 14, 2021 at 7:00 p.m. in Belle Plaine against Jordan.  The Brewers defeated Waseca 10-2 to advance to the title game.

Eagle Lake has been the cinderella of 6C action.  They are the #12 seed in the tournament, opened with a 7-5 win over #5 Blue Earth last Sunday, defeated #4 seed Gaylord 8-1 on Saturday.  The Indians game against the A's was rained out Saturday.  Moved to Sunday.
