Faribault Lakers Play Next Sunday at State Tournament

The Minnesota Baseball Association has released more details about when teams play next weekend.

The sites have evidently not been determined but at least teams can plan their practice schedules better leading up to their game.

Faribault will play the winner of this Sunday's Waterville vs. New Ulm game which is in Delano at 1:30 p.m.

The Lakers won Region 3C giving them a bye opening weekend of the tournament.

They play Sunday, August 27, 2023 at 4:30 p.m.

Region 5C Champion Cannon Falls also plays Sunday, August 27, 2023 at 11:00 a.m.

The Bears will play the winner of this Sunday's 4:30 p.m. Delano game between the Nisswa Lightning and Carver Black Sox.

Region 6 Champion Jordan Brewers play Saturday, August 26, 2023 at 7:00 p.m. against winner of Saturday, August 19. 2023 game between Green Isle Irish and Jackson Bulls which is scheduled for a 4:30 p.m. first pitcvh in Delano.

Region 3C #3 seed Veseli Warriors open Saturday, August 19, 2023 against Chisago Lakes Bulldogs at 11:00 a.m. in Dassel.   Winner gets Fergus Falls on Saturday, August 26, 2023 at 7:00 p.m.

Region 3C #2 seed Union Hill plays Sunday, August 20, 2023 against Maple Lake Lakers 4:30 p.m. in Dassel.

Region 5 runnerup Red Wing Aces tangle with Avon Lakers Sunday, August 20, 2023 in Dassel at 1:30 p.m.

Region 6 #2 seed Blue Earth Pirates compete Sunday, August 20, 2023 in Delano at 11:00 a.m.

Faribault Lakers are having a 7:00 p.m. scrimmage against State Tournament qualifier Courtland Cubs on Friday, August 18, 2023 at Bell Field.

People can purchase a Lakers 2023 State Tournament shirt at the field.

It would be great to see a sea of blue and red Faribault Lakers shirts at their game next weekend.

Remember Class C is single elimination all the way through.

Class B expanded from 8 teams opening round to 16 teams this year.
