There's a restaurant in Northfield that used to be a historic general store that opened in 1889, according to Only in Your State. Now, instead of a general store, the 130-year-old building has been turned into a restaurant called The Ole Store Restaurant.

The Ole Store Restaurant is a Scandinavian inspired restaurant, according to their website. They say it has "a relaxed comfortable atmosphere and Everyday Nordic food that highlights local ingredients and features new twists on your favorite church basement & family dinner dishes."

On their menu you'll find the Scandinavian inspiration they mention. You can get Swedish meatballs, walleye, and a Lena burger to name a few of the delicious options.

They are currently open for dine-in if you're interested (inside or outside on their front stoop) but they are limited to 50% capacity like all other restaurants right now. You have to make a reservation ahead of time which you can do HERE or you can give them a call. They ask that all guests wear a mask if you are not at a table and your group can be no larger than 4 (or 6 if you're all one family).

If you'd rather not dine-in, they have takeout available too. You can order online HERE or you can call to place your order. You can even order bottles of wine and cider too! When you arrive an employee will come and place your order in your trunk for you.

They are following safety protocols to keep employees and customers safe. You can see more about the protocols HERE.

In an announcement on their Facebook page this morning, starting on Wednesday, for the time being, they are no longer going to be open for lunch service. Here are their new hours according to the Facebook post:

Wednesday, Thursday, Friday: 4 PM - 9 PM
Saturday Brunch: 8 AM - 2 PM
Saturday Dinner: 4 PM - 9 PM
Sunday Brunch: 8 AM - 2 PM
