The 150+ year old law prohibiting alcohol sales on Sundays in Minnesota was finally abolished last July. At that time Governor Dayton told twincities.com, “This new law reflects the desires of most people in Minnesota." It's true - people like drinking, even on Sundays.

Before the law was changed people with empty fridges would often have to travel to the nearest neighboring state to purchase booze. Those people were often breaking a Minnesota law without even knowing it.

There is a law, that is still on the books, that says you can only bring so much beer, wine and alcohol into the state. Sgt. Troy Christianson says, "You can bring 288 ounces of beer or wine or 1 liter of liquor per person. If you bring more than this into Minnesota you need to contact the Department of Revenue." FYI - 288 ounces is one case of beer. If you're caught transporting more you could get a ticket.

Keep that in mind the next time you head over to Wisconsin to stock up on Spotted Cow.
