The #7 seeded Gophers played a very strong game against the #2 seeded Tigers and were led by senior Reid Johnson who finished with a game-high 32 points. Johnson's strong play helped the Gophers lead 37-30 at the break.

The Gophers and Tigers traded baskets throughout a majority of the second half, but strong play by Nolan Stier and Miles Hettinger for the Tigers allowed them to cut the lead down to one. After Drew Schindler went one-of-two at the free-throw line to make a two-point difference, Stier drove into the lane and tied the game at 70 at the buzzer to force overtime.

After the Tigers and Gophers each scored four points in the first extra session, Kaleb Hellickson stepped up for the Tigers.

Hellickson hit two 3-pointers in the second overtime to give the Tigers a big boost. From there, Stewartville was able to get the job done at the free-throw line to secure the 85-77 win.

Tschetter led the way for Stewartville with 27 points, even after fouling out of the game with just over 7 minutes to go in the second half. The Gophers got great play from Reid and Cole Johnson, and Schindler. The entire team brought a ton of energy and played hard throughout.
