The New Prague Post office will temporarily suspend its operations out of what a press release states as an "abundance of caution". Operations and mail delivery services will be moving to Belle Plain beginning today.

The official USPS press release states that "Out of an abundance of extreme caution, operations at the New Prague Post Office located at 124 Main Street East will be temporarily suspended due to safety concerns with the building."

If you have a PO Box at the New Prague post office you can still receive your items in Belle Plain with proper ID. The USPS's release went on to state that there may be some delay in mail delivery due to this suspension of operations. "Mail and packages that were in the facility at the time of the closure may incur a slight delay; however, we are working diligently to get this process expedited."

This is the second time that the facility in New Prague has moved its operations to Belle Plain as earlier this year in March there were other building issues that shut the post office down on a Saturday until building issues could be addressed.

The New Prague Post Office is a leased facility.
