Rice County Sheriff Confirms Fatal Car Accident Near Shieldsville
Rice County Sheriff Troy Dunn this afternoon confirmed one driver was killed and the other driver injured in a head-on collision about 2 miles southwest of Shieldsville. Dunn says next of kin are in the process of being notified and plans are to release the names of those involved tomorrow morning.
The mishap occurred in the 8000 block of Dodd Boulevard with the call made approximately 1:00 p.m. Kilkenny Fire and Rescue, Faribault Fire and North Ambulance all reported to the scene.
One of the individuals had to be extricated from their vehicle.
The fatal accident is being investigated by the Rice County Sheriff's Office. Dunn says both victims were men. The deceased was in his 30's.
