Challenger Jim Purfeerst carried every precinct en route to winning the Rice County Commissioner District 1 seat.  Purfeerst was going up against long time Commissioner Jake Gillen.  Purfeerst had 4,135 total votes to Gillen's 2,310.

Gillen had been in office since 2005.  There are 11 precincts in the district.  There were 28 write-ins.

The District 5 seat is retained by Jeff Docken after turning back challenger Kim Halvorson in a race that Docken dominated.

Docken had 5,119 votes cast for him.  Halvorson received 2,306.  There were 29 write-ins.

Commissioner for District 2 Galen Malecha of Northfield was running unopposed and received 6,032 votes.  There were 65 write-ins.

None of the Rice County Soil and Water Supervisor District spots had contests with TIm Little, Richard Cook and Michael Ludwig capturing the District 1, District 2 and District 4 offices.
