Randolph’s Otte Throws Another No-Hitter
Randolph Rockets senior Morgyn Otte recorded the tenth no-hitter of her career today in a 7-0 win over Grand Meadow/Leroy-Ostrander/Kingsland.
The last time the teams played Otte had a perfect game. In Randolph Tuesday she struck out 17, walked 2, threw 92 pitches, 67 for strikes.
Otte has a 0.70 ERA. In 80 innings pitched she has allowed 25 hits and 8 earned runs in 15 games.
The Rockets scored 2 runs in the first inning on a home run by Megan Erickson. It was Erickson's 8th home run of the season. They added 3 more in the third off RBI hits from Carter Raymond, Chloe Kimmes, Cheyann Freundschuh.
Randolph had 9 hits in the game.
Erickson finished with a double to go along with her home run for 3 RBI. Kimmes clubbed two doubles. Otte had a a double and single. Emily Davis added a double and single. Carter Raymond collected a RBI single.
The Rockets are 16-0. They finished the 2019 season ranked #3 in Class A and have been #1 all season this year. The latest rankings had them tied with Badger/Greenbush-Middle River.
Waterville-Elysian-Morristown entered the top 10 in the latest Minnesota Softball Coaches Association Class A softball rankings. The Buccaneers are tied in the #9 spot with Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg.
Goodhue and Hayfield are tied for #15. Glenville-Emmons/Alden-Conger is #16.
In Class 2A LeSueur-Henderson gains the top spot but is tied with Maple Lake. Winona Cotter moved up to #3. Zumbrota-Mazeppa jumped from #14 to #7. New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva dropped to #11.
Class 3A Mankato West is #1, Mankato East is tied for #2 with Big Lake, Winona #6 out of the Big Nine Conference. Byron is #12 tied with St. Peter.
The biggest schools have Stillwater Area #1. Rosemount is #4. Northfield moved up a couple places to #8. Prior Lake is #13, New Prague #14.
