Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - A Pine Island man who has been linked to several check fraud cases was arrested Tuesday on a more recent incident.

A rural Olmsted County couple reported a thief had stolen items from their mailbox two weeks ago.

Among the items were envelopes with checks to pay bills. They later discovered payments had been made from their checking account.

A sheriff’s department investigator learned bogus checks using the victims’ account information had been passed at three Rochester businesses. The investigator was able to identify the suspect as 33-year-old Jordan Alsaker, who is facing possible charges in several earlier check fraud cases involving nearly $18,000.
