Packers Too Much For Faribault Falcons
It had the makings of a really good Big Nine conference game. Austin was 11-1. The Falcons 8-2. The game had been postponed once due to weather. Both teams really did not want to reschedule Tuesday night as they are already having at least three-game weeks. So with the threat of snow, which by the way had not arrived yet when I left Austin shortly after 7PM, the game was moved up to a 5:30PM start. Was that a bad thing?
The Packers came out gunning. I had them shooting just over 50 percent from the floor in the first half whereas the Falcons were 6-20. The score at half time was 34-16 in favor of Austin. TJ Hunt played for the first time in a while although he was held to three points. Kade Hart and Cody Ehlers had eight points each to lead the team, and they were the State Farm Insurance Agents of Faribault players of the game.
I had Faribault 14-42 from the floor, packers 24-52 including nine 3's. There were not many fouls in the game so not many shots for either team from the free throw line.
The Falcons, now 8-3, face Rochester Mayo at home Thursday night, then play Northfield on Saturday afternoon.
