The Albert Lea area community has come together to raise money for the family of the victim in Monday's fatal crash in Freeborn County.

Grace Zimmerman died in a wreck just north of Albert Lea Monday afternoon and the community has rallied around the family to help them pay for medical expenses and hopefully more, according to their GoFundMe page. As of Wednesday morning at 9:15 a.m., the GoFundMe page has raised $12,319 for the family, with a goal to reach $20,000

"This GoFundMe page will help with any expenses they come across ad hopefully way more so they can be focused completely on family. Shower them in prayers and encourage them, not only in these days but for years and years to come."

The Minnesota State Patrol reported that Zimmerman was driving eastbound on Freeborn County Road 14 in a Ford Fiesta while a semi-truck, was traveling northbound on Highway 13. The two vehicles collided at the intersection. Zimmerman was taken to Albert Lea Hospital where she died.

If you would like to donate you can do so on the GoFundMe Page.
