A nonprofit called Go Safe Labs compiled a list of the worst spots for accidents in the continental US. They collected data in 2018 and 2019. Unfortunately, one of the spots that made the list is in Minneapolis. If you've driven this stretch before though you'll understand.

The spot in Minneapolis that came in as the number 4 worst spot for crashes is a junction between Old Highway 65 and I-94. Last summer this section of highway was awful because of all of the construction.

I think City Pages describes the mess the best: "From closed lanes and exits to a parade of bulldozers, the area has been reduced to a skinny sandbox of obstacles."

Number 1, 3, and 5 were "awarded" to problem areas in Greenville, SC. Number 2 went to spot in New York.

The weird thing though is that Go Safe Labs not only looked at the worst specific spots for crashes but also the worst cities for crashes in general. None of the cities that had a specific spot with bad accidents (like Minneapolis) made the list of the worst cities for crashes in general.
