One of the oldest wineries in Minnesota is going to be closing after this weekend. Northern Vineyards Winery in Stillwater is closing after over 40 years. Their last day is Sunday.

Northern Vineyards is all about being local. Bring Me the News writes that the winery "has been making wine using grapes from local growers and members of the Minnesota Winegrovers Cooperative, making it a point of pride that it 'never brought in juice from the East or West coast of the U.S.'"

They shared a heartfelt goodbye on their Facebook page earlier this month announcing the closing:

We will miss our regular and loyal customers, the many and rambunctious bachelorettes, and the steady stream of first-timers, who always wonder if it is okay to come in the back door. We will miss those who sit down on our beautiful deck overlooking the St. Croix River to enjoy 4th of July fireworks or just savor a bottle of Oktoberfest with someone special on a beautiful day
