
MSHSL Wrestling Sections Set
The regular high school wrestling season is over and the quest begins for supremacy in Team Section Tournaments next weekend.
MSHSL Section 1A top rated all season by The Guillotine Chatfield securing the #1 seed. Kenyon-Wanamingo was ranked #10 in latest poll and received the #2 seed.
Goodhue is #3, Lewiston-Altura/Rushford-Peterson #4.
The tournament opens Thursday, February 13, 2025 at high seeds with #8 seed Grand Meadow/Leroy-Ostrander/Southland going up against #9 seed Triton 6:00 p.m. at Chatfield.
The winner then wrestles the Gophers.
#7 seed Fillmore Central/Lanesboro/Mabel-Canton faces #10 seed Wabasha-Kellogg at 6:00 p.m. in the Castle at Kenyon-Wanamingo high school.
The winner then wrestles the Knights for the right to advance to the Mayo Civic Center in Rochester on.. Saturday, February 15, 2025.
#3 seed Goodhue hosts #6 St. Charles 7:00 p.m. Thursday and #4 seed L-A/R-P hosts #5 seed Dover-Eyota in Lewiston at 7:00 p.m. Thursday.
Semifinal matches are 11:00 a.m. in Rochester Saturday. If Kenyon-Wanamingo is there the plan is to carry it live on KDHL Radio, 920 AM, 95.9 FM, Worldwide on FREE KDHL app with coverage starting at 10:55 a.m. following the Triton Coaches Show.
MSHSL Section 1AA has Zumbrota-Mazeppa the top seed with Kasson-Mantorville #2, Pine Island is #3 and Plainview-Elgin-MIllville #4.
#8 seed Stewartville and #9 seed Lake City square off at 6:00 p.m. in Mazeppa with the winner tangling with the Cougars at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, February 13, 2025.
#7 seed Byron is in Kasson to wrestle #10 seed LaCrescent-Hokah 6:00 p.m. with the victor then wrestling against the KoMets.
#3 seed Pine Island entertains #6 seed Caledonia/Houston and #11 seed Waseca Thursday evening.
#5 seed Cannon Falls is at P-E-M to wrestle #13 Austin with the winner going up against PEM for the right to advance to the semifinals in Rochester.
Semifinals are 11:00 a.m.
Zumbrota-Mazeppa did win against Kasson-Mantorville during the regular season.
MSHSL Section 1AAA top seed is Albert Lea Area, #2 seed Northfield with just six teams in the tournament the semifinals are Thursday, February 13, 2025 with Albert Lea hosting #4 seed Rochester Mayo and #5 seed Rochester Century, Winner gets Albert Lea to follow.
#3 seed Owatonna goes against #6 seed Rochester John Marshall in Northfield with the winner colliding with the Raiders at 7:00 p.m,
The Championship match is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. in Rochester.
MSHSL Section 2A top seed is Lake Crystal/Wellcome Memorial Area who doesn't have to wrestle until Saturday when they host the tournament following a bye.
#2 seed Waterville-Elysian-Morristown hosts #7 seed Medford at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, February 13, 2025. #3 seed Westfield entertains #6 seed New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva in Blooming Prairie on Thursday.
#5 seed Saint Clair/Mankato Loyola goes up against #4 seed Blue Earth Area at Pemberton Auditorium . The winner faces LCWM 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the same time the other semifinals match is held between the other quarterfinal round winners in Lake Crystal.
Championship is scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
Kenyon-Wanamingo did defeat Lake Crystal-Wellcome Memorial during the regular season.
MSHSL Section 2AA bracket is not on the League website yet.
MSHSL Section 2AAA #8 seed Lakeville North hosts #9 seed Burnsville, 7:00 p.m, Wednesday, February 12, 2025. The winner goes up against top seed Apple Valley Friday, February 14, 2025 at Eastview High School at 4:00 p.m.
The winner of that match wrestles at 6:00 p.m. against the other 4:00 p.m. match winner between #4 seed Farmington and #5 seed Eastview.
On the other side of the bracket at 4:00 p.m. #2 seed Prior Lake tangles with #7 seed Rosemount and #3 seed New Prague competes against #6 seed Lakeville South.
The winners wrestle at 6:00 p.m. The title match is scheduled for 8:00 p.m.
The final Guillotine high school regular season rankings were released Friday.
