Minnesota Woman Uses Zip Line Illegally, Gets Stuck

If you’re going to break into a zip line attraction and use it illegally after hours, it’s probably best if you don’t get stuck, right?

Zip lining your way through our native Minnesota forest can be a way-cool and fun thing to do with family and friends. But you’ll probably want to make sure the attraction is, in fact, open and staffed with employees who know what they’re doing so you don’t get stuck, or worse, hurt. Seems pretty simple, right?

Not this 21-year-old Shakopee woman. She broke into the Kerfoot Canopy Tour attraction near Henderson (southwest of the Twin Cities, a little over and hour and a half northwest of Rochester) last weekend and tried to go for a zip line ride herself. After hours. In the dark.

Yeah, it didn’t turn out well.

This Fox-9 story says she hurt herself when she tried to slow down and ended up getting stuck. She had to call 911 (at 12:07 a.m., mind you) and have Sibley County first responders use a firetruck with a big ladder come to her rescue.

D’oh!

The story noted the owners said it’s the first time something like this has happened and that they’re adding additional security measures to prevent any repeat offenders. The story said the investigation is continuing, but didn’t say if she’ll be facing any charges.

I’m thinking she SHOULD be charged with being a moron for trying that little stunt, right? Come on, man! Zip lining looks pretty fun– when you do it legally, that is– paying for your ticket, and with employees guiding you through the process (check out the video below to see what I mean!)
