The Pine Island Panthers lead the KDHL listening area in qualifiers for the Class A Boys and Girls Track and Field Championships at Hamline University this Friday and Saturday.  The 4x800 Meter Relay in boys consists of senior Jacob Wright, senior Danny Langworthy, junior Connor Bailey and freshman Mark Quintero.

Junior Eric Wittlief competes in the 1600 Meter Run on Saturday.  Senior Josh Navratil has cleared 6 feet 5 inches in the high jump with the top seed mark at 6 feet 8 inches.  Junior Will Warneke performs in the 300 Meter Hurdles on Friday.  Sophomore Jaci Newman is in the toughest flight for the girls Long Jump.  Freshman Jerod White participates in the Pole Vault with a seed mark of 13 feet 3 inches.  The best mark is held by senior Jacob Munch of  Plainview-Elgin-Millville at 15 feet 1 inch.

Medford senior Rachael Luebbe and Maple River senior Madi Schirmer have the best marks at 5 feet 4 inches in the High Jump.  Both from the Gopher Conference.  Schirmer also qualified for State in the 100 Meter Dash with a seed time of 12.91.

Cannon Falls freshman Jaci Winchell is in the Triple Jump Saturday.  Joined by Triton sophomore Chloe Staub.  Their seed marks are 34 feet 6 and 3/4 inches and 35 feet 3 and 1/2 inches respectively.  The top seed mark is 36 feet 10 inches by Melrose Area junior Camryn Brinkman.

Waterville-Elysian-Morristown sophomore Toryn Richards will be in the girls Pole Vault Saturday.  Her seed mark is 10 feet with the top clearance coming into the State Tournament 12 feet by Perham senior Ashley Hokanson.  Senior Julia Cordes of Rochester Lourdes will also be competing with a seed mark of 9 feet 6 inches.  Richards will be in the High Jump Friday in a very competitive field.  Just 4 inches separates the seed marks from top to bottom.  Medford senior Rachael Luebbe and Maple River senior Madi Schirmer have the best marks at 5 feet 4 inches.  Richards mark is 5 feet 2 inches.  Lake City sophomore Ashley Veronen is also in the field with the same mark as Richards.

Buccaneers senior MaeLea Harmon is back in the girls 100 Meter Dash and anchors the 4x100 Meter Relay with senior Alexis Morsching, sophmore Toryn Richards and freshman Riley Sammon taking the baton in front of her.  The Bucs have the second fastest seed time in their heat and one of the top 5 times overall with the top 2 in each heat and the next five best times making it to the finals.

The W-E-M boys 4x100 Meter Relay team also runs Friday consisting of all seniors.  Levi Wolter, Tyler Hermel, Tanner Ranslow and Isaac Pratt.

Zumbrota-Mazeppa has multiple athletes competing at State.  Senior Cole Peters is in the High Jump Saturday.  His seed mark is 6 feet 3 inches.  Peters also will be in the 800 Meter run field and will be in the fastest heat according to the seed times.  Just one person in his heat has not gone under two minutes.  Peters seed time is 1:59.12.  The fastest is 1:57.76 by Ely junior Luke Olson.  Cougars eighth grader Katrina Sortland is in the girls 800 Meter Run, 1600 Meter Run and 3200 Meter Run.  Sortland has the third fastest seed time in the 3200 at 11:05.03.  Lake City 8th grader Jacey Majerus is also in the 3200 Meter Run field with a seed time of 11:23.04.

Triton senior Nell Graham is back in the 400 meter dash, 200 Meter Dash and 100 Meter Dash.  Classmate Fernando Bugarin is in the boys 100 Meter Dash.  Cobra senior Dylan Maas participates in the 300 Meter Hurdles with a seed time of 41.73.  The best seed time is 39.22 by St. Peter senior Jade Reicks.

Tri-City United senior Jackson Nesmoe has the third best seed mark in the boys Pole Vault at 13 feet 9 inches.  The best mark is owned by Plainview-Elgin-Millville senior Jacob Munsch at 15 feet 1 inch.  Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton senior Aidan Oldenburg is also in the field.

New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva senior Brady Agrimson will be in the 100 Meter Hurdles with a seed time of 15.27.  That is the third best seed time in the field.  Plainview-Elgin-Millville senior Jacob Munsch has a seed time of 15.42.  The fastest time has been turned in by Canby/Minneota senior Carter Wente 15.19.

J-W-P freshman Lauren Dimler will run Friday in the 300 Meter Hurdles along with Lake City sophomore Ashley Veronen.  Veronen also competes in the 100 Meter Hurdles.  Sophomore Kyler Bade of P-E-M is in the 400 Meter Dash. Classmate Leo Silha has the best seed mark in the Shot Put in his flight at 49 feet 8 inches.  The 8 competitors in the other flight all have tosses over 50 feet.

Lake City senior Ethan Heitman has the fifth best seed mark in the Long Jump, 21 feet 8 and 1/4 inches.  Byron sophomore Austin Freerksen is just ahead of him with a jump of 21 feet 9 and 1/4 inches.

Senior William Clarke of LeSueur-Henderson competes Friday in the Triple Jump with a seed mark of 43 feet.  The top mark is 45 feet 8 and 3/4 inches held by Pierz junior Matthias Algarin.  L-H senior Gabe Webster will be in the Shot Put field with the seventh best seed mark in the state 50 feet 2 and 1/2 inches.  The best toss has been 54 feet by Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton senior Bryce Anderson.
