Park Rapids, MN (KROC-AM News) - A man was killed in a traffic wreck he caused in northern Minnesota.

The Minnesota State Patrol says the man was driving a pickup truck at a “high rate of speed” when he rear-ended an SUV. The truck then left the road and crashed into a tree.

The man driving the truck was killed. He has been identified as 26-year-old Taner Berttunen of Menahga. The State Patrol report indicates he was not wearing a seatbelt and alcohol was involved.

The two people in the SUV were not hurt.

The wreck happened around 9:00 PM near Park Rapids.
