It was nice to see the Lonsdale Feed Mill in Lonsdale break ground on their new building. The building will be 100 feet by 80 feet and provide 8,000 square feet for a warehouse and new retail store. The retail store will offer customers a larger selection of pet foods, bird feed and many other new products. Construction was set for June but all the rain this summer and other delays set the project back to September. Hopefully the weather will cooperate to get the building up before the weather gets cold.

Steve and Tamara Vosejpka have owned the Lonsdale Feed Mill since 1982. It is truly a family business with Steve, Tamara and their son James. In addition there are two full-time employees. Their last major expansion was the addition of a 70,000 bushel grain bin that was built in 2012. In this age of very large corporate businesses it is nice to see there is room for family business too! Steve said depending on weather they are hoping the new building will be finished in March 2017.
