There was a sense of high drama at a number of area schools on Monday. It was a fun kind of drama, as students and candidates waited to see who would be crowned king and queen of homecoming week at Triton, NRHEG, Medford, and Blooming Prairie.

At Triton High School in Dodge Center, Samantha Hallaway and Jay Yankowiak won the honors. Other members of the court include Chloe Staub, Kendra Petersohn, Abby Gilliland, Paris Ellingson, Sydney Gilliland, Nick Adamson, Austin Melder, Derek Lilledahl, Aydan Round, and Parker Boe.

The Cobras will host a powder puff football game at 7 pm Wednesday. A parade in Dodge Center takes place Friday, September 27 at 10 am. The volleyball team will host a match at 1:30 Friday afternoon against St. Charles. The homecoming dance is Saturday at 8 pm.

In Blooming Prairie, Gabe Hagen and Viridiana Villarreal were crowned as king and queen. Powder puff football was held Sunday in a light rain at times. The homecoming parade is Friday at 4:15 pm. Dress up days include jersey day Tuesday, Color Day Wednesday, red-white-and-blue day Thursday, and BP spirit day Friday. View all the homecoming events here.

The Awesome Blossom football team will host Randolph Friday, September 27 at 7 pm in a battle of unbeaten teams. The game will be carried on Kat Kountry 105 FM and the Kat Kountry 105 app.

NRHEG High School crowned Jayna Domeier and Blake Ihrke as queen and king Monday night. The Panthers will host Lesueur-Henderson in the football game Friday night.

At Medford Willie VonRuden and Izzy Reuvers are the king and queen. The Tigers will host Goodhue in football Friday night.
