Lakeville North turned a 32-31 halftime lead into a 77-56 win Saturday in the Section 1AAAA Semifinals against Rochester John Marshall at the Rochester Mayo Civic Center.  Farmington dominated Lakeville South 76-54.  The Tigers have defeated the Panthers twice this season.

Lakeville North will be trying for their fourth consecutive Section title.  Since 2009 they have won Section 1AAAA seven times.  The exceptions were John Marshall in 2009, Mayo in 2013 and 2015.

The Panthers jumped to a 16-6 lead before John Marshall closed the half on a 25-16 run to make the score 32-31 at halftime.  Lakeville North junior 5'9 Lauren Jensen had to sit on the bench for much of the half in foul trouble but came out with some offensive firepower in the second half.  Jensen finished with 34 points.  Senior 5'10 guard Analiese Tschida had 14 points and junior 5'5 Sarah Kuma finished with 13 points.

Free throws did not determine the outcome of this game.  Lakeville North was 2 of 4 and Rochester John Marshall 17 of 22.  The Panthers had 11 three point baskets in the game.  John Marshall tallied 5.

The Rockets end their year 23-5 tied for Big Nine title with Red Wing.  Lakeville South finished their season 10-18.

The Farmington Tigers were the South Suburban Conference champs and ranked #7 in the latest Minnesota Basketball News Class 4A Top 20.  Lakeville North tied for 4th place in the league was rated #16 in latest MBBN rankings.  The Panthers are 17-11 and Farmington is 24-4.

During the regular season Farmington scored 61-47 and 80-60 wins over Lakeville North on December 11 and February 21 respectively.
