Saturday evening Louise and I attended the annual Faribault Chamber of Commerce Gala. I am involved in the Faribault Chamber of Commerce Agri-business committee. Louise and I always enjoy the Gala. Executive Director of the Faribault Chamber of Commerce Kymn Anderson is retiring. Faribault Mayor Kevin Voracek read a proclamation declaring Saturday February 3, 2018 Kymn Anderson Day in Faribault. For many decades Kymn has been a leader in Faribault and it was a nice tribute to Kymn.

Kymn has served on many committees in Faribault and the Faribault City Council, in addition to the Faribault Chamber of Commerce. Kymn also worked for many years here at KDHL. When I started at KDHL in 1995 Kymn was the Sales manager. However, Kymn's career began at KDHL much sooner. Kymn was an announcer on the KDHL airwaves beginning in the 1970's. Farm Broadcaster Dean Curtis was the first voice heard on KDHL. Kymn was the first female announcer heard on KDHL!

While Kymn is retiring from the Faribault Chamber of Commerce she said she will continue to be involved in the Faribault Community. New Executive Director Nort Johnson in the picture is apologizing to Kymn as she had requested that there be no big deal about her retiring at the Gala. I guess it just depends on your definition of a big deal right?
