The Faribault Falcon girls hockey team will host the Waseca Bluejays in quarterfinal round Section 1A action Wednesday night.  The Falcons are 7-3 at home this season.  Their only loss to a Class A team was 6-2 to Red Wing.  The other two losses were to Rochester Mayo (Big Nine Conference champs) and Northfield (in overtime).

Red Wing (21-4) got the top seed.  Rochester Lourdes (13-11) the number two seed.  Unfortunately they never played each other during the regular season.  There are only six teams in this section.  There really is no reason why all these teams can't schedule each other.  Four of them are in the Big Nine and then you add Waseca and Lourdes.

#3 seed Faribault (15-10) and #6 seed Waseca (7-17) will drop the puck at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Faribault Ice Arena.

Let's pack the arena in support of these ladies.  If they win they travel to Rochester Saturday night at 7:00 p.m. and play at Graham Arena.

The Lourdes Eagles have defeated Faribault twice this season and you know it's hard to be a good team three times.

#4 seed Austin (8-15) has rival Albert Lea (6-18) come to Riverside Arena Wednesday night at 7:00 p.m.

The winner goes to Prairie Island Arena in Red Wing 7:00 p.m. Saturday.
