A vehicle belonging to a woman from Columbus, Ohio, was found near Cannon Lake. The woman had been reported missing a few days earlier. A Faribault man was charged in connection with her death.

An Alexandria woman was charged with murder in September after the man she visited at the Minnesota Correctional Facility in Faribault died after her visit. She admitted to bringing him some methamphetamine. She was sentenced this month.
