Three seats on the Rice County Board of Commissioners were up for election this year and all three will have the same people serving in their district.

In District 1, Commissioner Jake Gillen received the most votes in nine of the 11 precincts to retain his seat. Vote totals were 2,921 for Gillen and 2,123 for challenger Tom Hallet. Hallet won in Walcott Township 355-192 and captured Cannon City Township 340-318 but Gillen received the most votes in the rest of the precincts.

In District 2, Galen Malecha of Northfield ran unopposed and in District 5 Jeff Docken easily gained re-election with 4,618 votes to Kim Halvorson's 1,883.

There was just one Soil and Water Conservation Supervisor position that was contested and that was in District 4. Michael Ludwig garnered 12,313 votes to Beth Kallestad's 11,352.

In Morristown, Kurt Wolf was elected mayor with 269 votes to Rick Vollbrecht's 212.

Northfield's mayor is Rhonda Pownell with 4,409 votes to Dana Graham's 4,125.

Brad Ness wins the at large Northfield City Council seat 3,970 votes to Greg Colby's 3,189.

Northfield Council seat Ward 2 goes to David Delong with 1,264 votes to Jack Hoschourer with 1,005.

Northfield Council Ward 3 representative is Erica Zweifel with 871 votes to Norman Butler's 377.
