Great Night for Opening Ceremonies at Heritage Days
Last night my wife and I ventured down to the opening ceremonies of the Faribault Heritage Days Celebration. It got underway shortly after 6:30PM with a flag raising ceremony and was hosted by Kelly Huff. Unfortunately two of the key speakers, Father Henry Doyle and Tom McDonough, were unable to attend. The opening ceremonies were followed by Flag Day ceremonies hosted by the Faribault Elks Lodge.
Afterwards they cranked up the karaoke machine and the fun started in earnest with several different singers showing off their pipes on the Central Park bandshell stage. There were plenty of inflatables and bouncy rides to entertain the kids that had come down to the park to take part in the festivities. Plus food galore.
I had been under the impression that the carnival rides weren't going to running until tonight but they had most if not all of them up and running plus plenty of games to try your hand at winning a prize.
Tonight the Mayor's reception will be hosted at the Faribault Fire Department with plenty of activities in Central Park. Want to know more, go to FaribaultHeritageDays.com.
