Governor Walz To Reveal The State’s Plan for Schools Today

Today is the day students, parents, and educators all across the state have been anxiously waiting for. Later this afternoon we will learn about the state's plan for the new school year. Each district has been preparing for three different scenarios: distance learning, a full return to schools, and a mix of both. It is possible the Governor will leave the decision up to each district.

Governor Walz will be joined by health and education officials to discuss the future of schools at a 2:00 PM press conference which you can hear live on News Talk 1340 KROC-AM and 96.9 FM, on the KROC News App, and at krocnews.com.

A survey conducted by Education Minnesota revealed that nearly half of the Minnesota public school teachers that responded would prefer to continue distance learning. More than 20,000 teachers responded and only 17% were in favor of in class teaching.
