Governor Tim Walz has a press conference scheduled for 2:00 PM today. He'll be joined by education and health officials to discuss the state's plan for schools this fall.

Districts have been preparing for distance learning, a full return to schools, and a mix of both. There are several unconfirmed reports that suggest the Governor will allow each district to decide what's best for their schools.

Meanwhile, according to Minnesota News Network, Denise Specht, head of the Education Minnesota teachers union, says she, "believes some schools are ready to fully re-open because they have classrooms large enough to accommodate spacing, plus other resources., I do know that there are some schools that are just not ready to open. Perhaps they don’t have enough staff. Perhaps they haven’t figured out busing. Maybe they don’t have enough cleaning supplies to start.”

You can listen to the press conference live on News Talk 1340 KROC-AM and 96.9 FM, on the KROC News App, and at krocnews.com.
