Goodhue and Owatonna Now Ranked Number One in Football
The Minnesota Associated Press high school football polls for the week of October 11 have some changes involving KDHL/POWER 96 area teams.
The polls are provided by the Minnesota Football Coaches Association.
The Goodhue Wildcats clobbered Rushford-Peterson last Friday and are now ranked #1 in the Class A poll and following a Elk River loss the Owatonna Huskies take the top spot in Class 5A.
Owatonna will play #5 Northfield this Friday night at Memorial Field in Northfield.
In Class 5A Apple Valley is 7th and Mankato West 8th.
Winona remains atop the Class 4A poll and Kasson-Mantorville jumped three spots to #6 after their convincing win over state ranked Class 3A Rochester Lourdes last Friday.
The Lourdes Eagles dropped from #2 to #5 with their loss. St. Croix Lutheran still sits atop the Class 3A poll.
Caledonia is still #1 in Class 2A and Triton remains in the #5 spot. Maple River enters the Class 2A rankings at #9.
By the way Rushford-Peterson dropped all the way to #9 after their loss to Goodhue.
Mayer Lutheran moved up a spot to #8 after their win over Faribault Bethlehem Academy last week.
Blooming Prairie is now tied for the #10 spot in Class A.
In Class 6A Eden Prairie is still on top. Lakeville North fell from #4 to #9 with their loss last week and Rosemount jumps in at #10.
The Nine-Man football poll still has Spring Grove on top and four time defending state title holder Grand Meadow has moved up from #7 to #5. Houston dropped from #3 to #7 after a loss last week. Cleveland is #8.
