Sunday evening we went up to the Barn to watch the Minnesota Gophers men's basketball team play Michigan. The tickets were a Christmas present from our future daughter-in-law, Megan. Megan will finish her Ph.D. in analytical chemistry at the University of Minnesota this spring. I attended many basketball games at the Barn when I attended the University of Minnesota. I have not been to a game since the Barn was remodeled.

It was nice that the Gophers were able to beat Michigan in overtime. It was a very exciting game even though the Gophers did not shoot free throws well. At one time they had made only four of 10. You don't win many games in the Big Ten with free throw shooting like that. It was ironic that in the second half and overtime the Gophers began making their free throws and Michigan began missing them. That proved to be the difference in the game and why the Gophers won!
