Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A former Hennepin County employee has been sentenced to six months in federal prison for a fraud conviction.

The husband of 51-year-old Yolanda Coleman-Pittman was given a one-year prison term for his role in a conspiracy to defraud multiple government social services programs over a number of years. 46-year-old Robert Coleman and his wife earlier pleaded guilty to the charges, which alleged Coleman-Pittman used her position in the county's Human Services and Public Health Department to fraudulently obtain subsidized housing benefits, Medical Assistance coverage, food stamps and Social Security disability payments for her husband.

Federal prosecutors say the value of the fraudulently obtained personal care attendant services provided to the husband through the Medical Assistance program was close to $250,000. Much of that was paid to Coleman-Pittman, who billed the government for taking care of her husband's personal care needs.
