Fire Causes ‘Extensive Damage’ To Rochester Home
Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - A fire caused significant damage to a home in Rochester’s Country Club Manor neighborhood Wednesday.
A neighbor called 911 around 4:30 pm after seeing “flames showing from the windows” of the home at 3559 6th St NW.
Fire crews arrived to discover flames had spread to the attic. Due to the size of the blaze, the Rochester Fire Dept. says “multiple crews were needed to extinguish the fire.”
A Rochester police spokesman said a man and his daughter escaped without injury but the family lost one dog. Another was revived. RFD says two cats also survived.
One firefighter was taken to the ER due to possible dehydration.
RFD says “The residence was significantly damaged and there is no cost estimate at this time.”
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
