The Faribault Falcons volleyball team fell to Class A #5 ranked Waterville-Elysian-Morristown 3-1 and the tennis team lost at Austin 4-3 Thursday night.

In the tennis match Head Falcons Coach Jeff Anderson said despite the wind there were some great matches.  #1 singles Chau Truong and #2 singles Kylie Petricka both won.  Truong 6-4, 6-2, Petricka 6-4, 6-3.  Coach Anderson said, "Kylie was seeing the court well today."

"Austin #1 singles Reanna Schmitt had a very strong serve and Chau handled it well by blocking it back into play and numerous times playing a slice to drop her return shot short in the court allowing herself into the point and to grab control of the point with her groundstrokes."

The #1 doubles team of Abby Goodwin and Erica Johnsrud scored a 6-1, 6-1 win. "They had control of their match from the very first serve and never let Austin in."

The #2 doubles team of Kate Jasinski and Rylie Starkson also played well.  They dropped the first set 7-5, won the second set 7-6 after winning a tiebreaker 7-4 to force a full third set since the overall team match had not been decided.  The Packers captured the third set 7-5.

Wednesday the Falcons travel to Owatonna to play their rescheduled match with Northfield at 4:00 p.m.
