The Faribault Falcons fastpitch softball team rolled to a 16-0 win over Rochester John Marshall at North Alexander Park Tuesday.  At about the same time the baseball team was defeated 3-2 in walk-off fashion at John Marshall.

Rylee Sietsema continued her stellar season in the pitching circle, amassing 10 strikeouts with 1 walk while allowing 2 hits in the 4 inning affair.  She threw 67 pitches, 43 strikes.

The senior added 2 hits and 2 RBI as Faribault cranked out 16 hits in the lopsided win.  Amira Williams, freshman, was 3 for 3 with 2 doubles, 3 RBI.  Five Falcons had multiple hits in the game.  Emma Minnick, senior, smacked a double for 2 RBI.  Olivia Smith, senior, tallied 2 hits with 2 RBI, Amanda Cullen, sophomore, added 2 hits, 2 RBI and Brooke Racine, senior, collected 2 hits.

Faribault batters only struck out once and achieved 3 walks.  The team is now hitting .299 on the season with 139 hits in 17 games led by Cullen's blistering .400 batting average.

Three other Falcons are batting .360 or better (Williams, Jamie Adamek, junior, Sietsema and Reagan Drengenber, senior, is hitting .319.

The baseball team was tied in Rochester with John Marshall 2-2 going into the 7th inning when the Rockets scored for the victory.

The Falcons managed two hits Tuesday after two hits were collected against Tri-City United in a 3-0 loss in Montgomery on Monday.

Faribault is hitting under .180 as a team with 66 hits, 36 runs in 16 games.  They have 9 extra base hits all season.

The Falcons pitching was very good the last couple games.   Hudson Dillon started against the Rockets and fanned 10, walked 3, allowed 7 hits over 5 and 2/3 innings.  He allowed 2 runs.

Michael Crone was tagged with the loss while throwing 2/3 of an inning, giving up 3 hits with i strikeout and no walks.

Against Tri-City United Ben Cunniff started on the mound going 5 innings, allowing 6 hits, 3 runs, 2 earned, with 4 strikeouts, 2 walks.  Dominic Erickson threw 1 inning of no hit no run ball with 2 strikeouts.

The Faribault team Earned Run Average was over 8 going into this week with 143 hits and 139 runs given up in 16 games.
