Faribault Police Arrest Man With No License, Drugs Inside Vehicle

The Faribault Police Department reported a recent arrest where the alleged criminal made a few mistakes. First he was driving without a license and second he allegedly had 195 grams of meth in a safe inside the vehicle.

The Police Report states, "Officer Michael Shuda was patrolling on Thursday, January 28th when he saw a vehicle he knew from previous experience to be driven by Trevor St. Mar-tin, 41. Shuda also knew St. Martin to have a revoked driver’s license. Shuda caught up with the vehicle and confirmed St. Martin was the driver, and then stopped him. St. Martin admitted his license was revoked."

"Officer Shuda also saw numerous tools in the back of the vehicle, as well as a safe. Rice County Sheriff's Deputy Kevin Krueger and K9 Riggs arrived and performed a sniff of the vehicle. K9 Riggs alerted, indicating the presence of narcotics. Shuda searched the vehicle and found a glass methamphetamine pipe in the glovebox, and numerous shotgun shells in the trunk. St. Martin was arrested and the vehicle was towed."

"A further search of the car revealed over 195 grams of suspected methamphetamine in the safe. St. Martin was charged with 1st degree Controlled Substances and Felon in Possession of Ammunition. His bail was set at $50,000 with conditions.

Faribault Police also want to remind people not to have their traditional Super Bowl party this weekend with the current pandemic still happening.

Faribault Police is teaming with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration in emphasizing the message "Fans Don't Let Fans Drive Drunk."
