Faribault Lakers shortstop Joe Grote collected 5 RBI in a 11-3 win over the Lonsdale Aces at Bell Field Friday night.  Grote hit a home run in the bottom of the first inning to give the Lakers a 3-1 lead.  The Lakers veteran added an RBI double in the bottom of the third inning and RBI single in the eighth inning.

In addition Faribault's Jack Helgeson had a 3 RBI night while going 5 for 5 at the plate.  Blake Langerud had a pair of hits, scored 3 runs and collected an RBI.  Langerud and Grote each had stolen bases in the victory.  Former Faribault Falcon right handed pitcher Tyler Francis went the first 7 innings on the hill allowing 6 hits, 2 earned runs, with 4 walks, 3 strikeouts while throwing 110 pitches, 66 for strikes.

Jim Roberts threw the final two innings for the Lakers allowing 2 hits, 1 earned run, 1 walk, throwing 32 pitches, 18 for strikes.

Lonsdale scored a run in the first inning to take the lead when Peter Grassi of Lakeville opened with a single and was sacrificed to second base by Marty Kalina of Montgomery.  The second out was recorded following a walk.  Thomas Hoppert of Elko-New Market clubbed an RBI single.

The Aces added a run in the 6th inning when Ross Beumer of Northfield hammered a home run and a run in the 8th inning with two out on a RBI single by Brad Davis of Montgomery.

Isaac Pint of Lonsdale took the loss while pitching 5 innings.  8 hits, 6 earned runs, 2 walks, 4 strikeouts.  He threw 84 pitches 49 strikes.  Brad Davis threw 74 pitches, 39 strikes in 3 innings allowing 4 hits, 5 runs, 4 earned, 5 walks, 1 strikeout.

It was the 4th straight loss for the Aces, now 4-10.  Faribault is 8-8 and travels to Prior Lake tomorrow for a 6:00 p.m. game.  Lonsdale hosts Union Hill Sunday at 2:00 p.m.
