It's a business that has been around for 150+ years, but that doesn't mean that the Faribault Woolen Mill Co. is still producing the same items. The local company recently announced that Paul Grangaard will be taking over as chairman and CEO, while Paul Mooty, who helped to establish Faribault Woolen Mill Co after reopening it in 2011 with his cousin Chuck Mooty, will serve as vice-chairman of its board of directors.

According to Twin Cities Business (limited articles per month) Grangaard when speaking about the products offered by the woolen mill, "They haven't been focused enough on product. It's too dark and too blue. We need brighter colors. There's nothing for holidays, for the change of seasons."

The public shouldn't see too many changes in our area as far as the new leadership at Faribault Woolen Mill Co. The current Faribault based store at the mill will stay, as will the Minneapolis store. Grangaard's Linden Hills store, previously a CircleRock brand he founded, will become a Faribault Woolen Mill Co. store, and maybe further down the road a store in Chicago.

As far as where the Faribault Woolen Mill Co. will go in terms of products, Grangaard told Twin Cities Business that "he also plans to extend the brand into new menswear categories and add women’s scarves, wraps, and ponchos."

The public can expect to "see lots of new products in August."
