Cannon Falls FFA Wins Crops Contest

The Cannon Falls FFA crops team won the contest at the 88th State FFA Convention held recently at the University of Minnesota-St. Paul campus. The FFA renamed these contests a few years ago. They call them CDEs, or Career Development Events. I still call them judging contests. By winning, the Minnesota State FFA CDE, the Cannon Falls FFA Crops Team has earned the right to judge at the National FFA Convention this October in Indianapolis.

Cannon Falls FFA Crops Team members include Kira Jacobson, who placed first individually; Brooke Kimmes, who placed second; Madalynn Lundell, who placed sixth; and Lola Munson, who placed seventh. It does not happen real often that judging teams from our area win the State FFA Contest and earn a trip to the National FFA Convention. This year there are three teams -- the Goodhue Livestock Evaluation and Dairy Evaluation teams also won the state FFA contest.
