The Goodhue FFA Dairy Cattle Evaluation and Livestock Evaluation teams placed first at the 88th State FFA Convention held recently at the University of Minnesota-St. Paul campus. Back when I was in the FFA, we called these judging contests. Today they call them CDE's or Career Development Events. Both these teams have now earned the right to judge at the National FFA Convention this fall in Indianapolis.

The Goodhue FFA Dairy Cattle Evaluation team members include Emily Benrud, who placed first individually; Jay Dicke, who placed fourth; Kjersten Veiseth, who placed 13th; and Bradyn Hinsch, who placed 24th.

The Goodhue FFA Livestock Evaluation team members include Mattew Betcher, who placed first individually; Josephine Jenson, who placed 29th; Dallas Jacobson, who placed 41st; and Justin Thomforde, who placed 100th.

Congratulations also to the Zumbrota-Mazeppa FFA Soils Team that placed second at the State FFA Convention. The Zumbrota-Mazeppa soils team includes Brynn Karstens, who placed second individually; Emily Haugen, who placed ninth; Casy Dykes, who placed 15th; and Kayra Nichols, who placed 133rd.
