The Hayfield Vikings and Faribault Bethlehem Academy Cardinals Friday night treated fans at Van Orsow Auditorium in Faribault to an old fashioned barn burner. Hayfield went home with a 53-52 win.  The Cardinals trailed by one point at the half and both teams scored 32 points in the second half.

The top two scorers for each team had 16 points apiece with Bethlehem Academy led by Jack Clark and Damon Trump and Hayfield by Mason Tapp and Luke Dudycha.  The Vikings got a third double digit scorer in Ethan Slaathaug with 15 points.  The difference in the game however was at the free throw line.  Hayfield was 10 of 13 and Bethlehem Academy 6 of 8.

The Cardinals out rebounded the Vikings 31 to 24 according to BA statistics.  Hayfield had 7 and Bethlehem Academy 6 three point baskets in the game.

The Vikings shot 44 percent for the game finishing with two less field goals than the 41 percent shooting Cardinals.
