Last night there were three Christmas concerts going on at area schools. Gordy went to Kenyon-Wanamingo High School, Kelly went to Randolph and I chose to go to Waterville-Elysian-Morristown High School's Holiday Choir Concert. We were all attending these holiday programs to record them for rebroadcast over the Christmas weekend on KDHL 920 AM.

The concert started at at 7PM so I left Faribault a little early and had a nice drive over to Waterville. I had forgotten that the new speed limit on Highway 60 is 60 mph instead of 55. I got there around 6PM so that I could find a good seat up front and set up my digital recorder.

The concert was directed by Ms. Hailey Feltis and accompanied on piano by Mrs. Melissa Schultz. The evening began with the Junior High Choir and they sang five beautiful Christmas songs including "It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year," "Jingle Bells," "It's Snowing" and more. The concert choir then took the stage and lent their voices to "People Look East," "Do You Hear What I Hear" and others. The Chamber Choir then stepped forward with a wonderful rendition of "We Need a Little Christmas." Finally all the choirs joined to together for the fun and upbeat "Variations of Fa-La-La," which I had never heard before and thoroughly enjoyed.

A big thank you to everyone who so warmly welcomed me to an evening of festive holiday music. This wonderful W-E-M Holiday Choir Concert will air at 7PM on Christmas day on KDHL.
