My guest on today's AM Minnesota Program will be Warren Formo Executive Director at the Minnesota Agriculture Water Resource Center. The Minnesota Agriculture Water Resource Center was formed a number of years ago to work on water quality issues in agriculture. Their members and supporters include agricultural organizations representing more than 50,000. It is a non-profit research and education organization dedicated to assisting Minnesota farmers in addressing water quality concerns.

Some of the topics that I plan on talking with Warren about include buffer strips and nitrogen regulations. Very soon the Minnesota Department of Agriculture will be releasing the new rules and regulations on nitrogen use. Also, a few days ago the mandatory buffer strips were back in the news when the Board of Water and Soil Resources (BWSR) proposed dramatically increasing the fines for buffer strips that were out of compliance with Minnesota's Buffer law. Warren will give an update on these issues and others at 9:30 this morning.
