My guest on today's AM Minnesota program will be Tom Hoverstad scientist at the Southern Research and Outreach Center at Waseca. I always enjoy talking with Tom. It seems I always learn something from the research he does around the state of Minnesota. Tom is also well read on other agronomic research done at other Land Grant institutions in the upper Midwest. Tom specializes in herbicide and weed trials along with keeping tract of the weather records at the Southern Research and Outreach Center Waseca.

I am sure the weather will come up in this mornings discussion. In case you did not notice it has been really cold this spring? I looked at the official weather data at the Southern Research and Outreach Center yesterday. As of March 26, 2018 there was 9 inches of frost in the ground at the station. The last time we saw a daily high temperature of 50 degrees was December 6, 2017! The average daily high temperature for today is 53 degrees.
