Today on KDHL's AM Minnesota Program I will have two guests, University of Minnesota Extension in Rice and Steele County Claire LaCanne and Dave Nicolai Crops Specialist from the Farmington Extension office. We will be discussing a number of University of Minnesota educational programs coming up including Rice and Steele County Crops Day and the Dakota County Crops Day.

We will also be discussing some new diseases, insect pests and weeds that farmers need to be on the lookout for this growing season. They include Black Tar Spot in corn, Soybean Gall Midge in soybeans and Palmer Amaranth. In addition we will discuss plans for controlling the weeds we do have like Giant Ragweed and Waterhemp.
