May is Beef Month and that will be the topic on today's AM Minnesota. My guest will be Becky Church Communications Director for the Minnesota Beef Research and Promotion Council. Long ago May was designated as Beef Month. May was chosen because it is traditionally the beginning of the summer grilling season. It will be fun to get an update from Becky about some of the May Beef Month promotions that have been held and those that are scheduled for later this month.

Remember all dairymen and women are also part of the beef industry too. I saw myself as a dairyman producing milk and never thought much about all the beef I produced! Almost all the bull calves born are fed out as beef animals and when a cow is no longer economical to produce milk she is a beef animal too. Culled dairy cows provide a lot of ground beef for grilling hamburgers.
