Welcome back to another edition of Adopt-A-Pet! This week we are featuring a feline that has been at the shelter for 10 years! Meet Dandy-Lion, who has basically grown up at the Mower County Humane Society. He is looking to find a great home, as he still has many years ahead of him.

According to our friend Michaela Tews, a volunteer at the shelter, DL has been at the shelter for 10 years and is "a sharp-looking, playful guy who would be a great pet. He LOVES people's attention but would prefer to be the only feline of the family."

It's hard to imagine that such a striking cat would be overlooked for potentially so long, but it does happen.

With the current restriction due to COVID-19 the shelter in Mower County is not offering public adoption hours, but eligible applicants can schedule some time to see the pet they are interested in up close and take home to see if they are a fit for you and your family.

To go along with the current restrictions due to COVID, and what sounds like a widely available vaccine in the spring, now would be a great time to add a roommate like DL to your house. You two can spend some time together over the holidays and hopefully, it's a great fit.

One of our adoptive cats is a BIG fan of our Christmas tree and likes to pluck our 'soft'/plush ornaments off the tree and hide them else where in the home. It's little things like that, that make having a pet a sometimes eye-rolling but still amusing addition to your home.
