Fatal Crash On Lemond Road Southwest Of Owatonna Saturday Morning

According to the Steele County Sheriff's Office, the fatal crash that occurred off Lemond Road southwest of Owatonna is still under investigation and the victim has not been identified.

The Steele County Sheriff, Lon Thiele, sent out this release this morning after requesting more information on the fatal crash.

Steele County, Minnesota- On Saturday, March 12, 2022 at 0518 hours, The Steele County Sheriff’s Office, Mayo Ambulance, and Mayo Air Care, and the Owatonna Fire Department were dispatched to a one-vehicle crash on the 3600 Block of Lemond Road in Steele County.

Upon arrival responding units located one vehicle had went off the road and had struck a tree. The operator of the vehicle was pronounced dead at scene by Mayo Clinic Ambulance Personnel.

This case remains under investigation by the Steele County Sheriff’s Office.

No further information will be released at this time.
