St. Paul, MN (KROC-AM News) - The Minnesota Department of Public Safety is calling attention to what it describes as “an alarming number” of fatal crashes this month.

Since the start of the month, the state has received at least 21 reports of traffic-related deaths. At least 7 of those fatalities have occurred over the past five days and 6 of the deaths were the result of the fiery head-on crash on I-90 near Eyota on August 2nd.

Officials say all drivers need to think about their behavior behind the wheel, buckle up, drive the speed limit or to the conditions of the road, never drive impaired by alcohol, drugs, or lack of sleep, and drive distraction-free.
