Police Make Arrest In Bathroom Arson Case

Faribault Police Chief Andy Bohlen joined KDHL live during the 8:05 report Wednesday morning and after receiving some anonymous tips from the public, a search warrant was executed at a residence and a suspect arrested in alleged connection with the arson over the weekend at Alexander South Park. Damage to the bathroom building was estimated at about $600.  Arrested was 21 year old Ryan Berg of Faribault and he has been jailed on charges of 2nd Degree Arson and Criminal Damage to Property.  Chief Bohlen says Berg is scheduled to appear in Rice County District Court Thursday.  The Faribault Police Chief says his department is, "truly grateful for the calls and information that we received, which helped us identify and arres the person responsible for this crime.  It is good to know that there are so many people willing and interested in assisting us to quickly close this investigation."
